Essentially, you just need to download the Microsoft Teams app from their website. When you open Teams, sign in using your same Skype username and password.
That’s it! Microsoft has ensured that your old Skype chats and contacts will automatically be in your Teams account. So, you won’t lose any of your conversation history or phone numbers.
Microsoft is now focusing on Teams because it offers more modern features and technology. They want to combine everything into one app. This will make communication easier for everyone and improve the overall experience.
Switching from Skype to Teams Made Easy
If you’ve paid for Skype Credit or have an active Skype subscription, here’s what you need to know:
Microsoft has stopped letting people buy new Skype Credit. However, if you already have credit, don’t worry! You can continue to use it until it runs out. If you have a Skype subscription, you can keep using it until the date it’s set to expire.
Even after the Skype app itself shuts down, there’s some good news. You will still be capable of getting calls on your Skype Number. You need to use Skype Web to do this. Access Skype through a web browser. Alternatively, use the Microsoft Teams app.
So, while the dedicated Skype app is going away, your paid features will still be accessible. You can still get calls on your Skype Number through other Microsoft platforms.
